Graduation

Graduation  customs vary from one country to another. Graduation ceremonies at British universities often kick off with a procession of professors dressed in academic attire. A graduate's name is called out one by an official. When their names are announced, the graduates walk across the platform to shake hands with a senior official and accept their individual qualifications. The ritual of the cap throw, in which students remove their hats in honour of their achievements, has been popular in recent years.
